Everything You Need to Know
Why do I need an HQL?
Maryland generally requires a Handgun Qualification License to purchase, rent, or receive a regulated handgun, unless an exemption applies. This course helps satisfy the required firearms safety training component.
What should I bring?
Just bring your driver's license or other accepted identification for check-in. All training equipment is provided. No personal firearm is required.
Can I take the course before turning 21?
Yes! Students ages 18 and older may attend. Maryland generally requires applicants to be at least 21 to obtain an HQL. The training certificate is valid for three years, allowing you to complete training in advance.
Where is the course held?
